Flycycle

Fly by suction .

Overview: A big scoop presents it's self to the wind. Tucked in behind is as much of the vehicle as possible. Our intention is to reduce drag by internalising it and using it for propulsion.

As you can see the pressure fields are not where it is wanted to make lift for the craft, besides this drawing mearly shows what may occur with a basic tube shape. Lets cut stright to a more ideal scene, and show something much better.

We're looking for "big bubbles of low static pressure" over the top of the craft. The next simulation is showing this. Notice suction is developing at the front of our scoops and those bubbles flow back over the roof of the flycycle.

The next hardcopy is great and reflects the big smile I had at such a worthwhile simulation.

This project idea has had the benifit of much attention. I've done many drawing refinements and simulations. Am trying to keep this craft wingless, however holding larger pressure bubbles is becoming difficult within the current drawing ideals. Adding wing area will need to be trialed to.
